Conference Location – Annie’s Lodge (10/19/09)

One and a half hours north of Blantyre is the town of Zomba. This is the location of our first conference entitled “Response to HIV/AIDS by Religious Leaders”. The purpose of the conference is to present to the group the findings of Dr. Sally Rankin’s large study examining how faith-based organizations are responding to the HIV/AIDS crisis in Malawi. The lodging area was quite spectacular. It looked and felt like a tropical garden paradise. I was amazed by the sheer beauty and it truly provided an open and welcoming environment for the conference proceedings. The research team is looking forward to not only sharing what we learned from our interviews, but also learning from our Malawian colleagues.
